Tactile Observations
Ongoing series of works started in 2026.
Daler Rowney FW Acrylic Ink on Artistico Fabriano Paper 640 gsm (27.3 x 17.9 cm), pressed between two 2 mm transparent acrylic sheets (27.8 x 18.4 cm).
The works are installed as drawings caught in wooden mousetraps, with variable placements and combinations.
The image style is conceived as if the line on the paper were tactilely tracing the real contour, just as it appears in the scene before my eyes. A discrepancy arises from the imperfect coordination between eye and hand, an accumulation of mistakes and attempted corrections. The described realism is insufficient, but the drawn image is an undeniable testament to an authentic moment of attention. I see these drawings as conceptual charges consolidated through effort and intention. Exhibiting them as objects caught in mousetraps brings into discussion a negative reverse of the initial honesty—that state when the goal of capturing an image obscures the pure intention of wanting to spend time from your life in the company of an image, understanding it.
