​Pretty Removal

intervention in public space, video with stereo sound, 1920 x 1080 px., 33m21s

After a typhoon, a potted Zamioculcas that had been placed to grow in public space was knocked over, and the container smashed. I replaced it with another sturdiery container that I found. During this closer inspection, I noticed the red ornaments attached by wires and how the stems were taped to metal stakes to forcibly form a compact bouquet. The arrangement was probably fashioned this way when it was originally sold to make it look more beautiful. I thought that all these decorative amendments would hinder the plant in the long term, so I took the time to remove them.
